A ping-pong delay, diagrammed in Fig. 12, can be used for stereo mixing to create a wide, immersive stereo image. Either a stereo or monophonic input can be used though a stereo input is more common.
The two delay lengths are generally the same and can be modulated with a low-frequency oscillator (LFO).

The gain coefficients control the duration of the repetitions or echoes.
More complicated repetition patterns can be designed with more delay line taps and by controlling the feedback coefficients and delay line lengths in various ways.
