modular Pd, Max/MSP or Chuck patches for sound synthesis
implementation of sound synthesis or digital effects (ex., reverberation) algorithms using Pd, Matlab, Max/MSP, STK, Chuck or an audio plugin environment
implementation of effects or synthesis algorithms on a microcontroller or in a browser using the Unity or Web Audio APIs
a STFT-based audio processing scheme
Project presentations and reports should include:
a quick summary of your objectives / motivation
the project design / methodology
particular issues that proved challenging / rewarding
example usage / demo
clear citations for tools or resources used that were created by others
As well, all code or patches developed for the project should be linked to the report for download. If your project involves hardware or software not used in the course, you should provide a short video demonstration.
Grading will be based on:
presentation (7%): organization, clarity, description of the motivation and general methodology for the project, demonstration of example usage or results
web write-up (8%): well documented / organized, grammatically correct, describes methodology, must cite tools or resources developed by others, discuss problematic issues, contributions, possible improvements or future work
research and/or development (10%): appropriateness of approach, quality of results, scope, diligence, effort
